DESIGN IT IN TUBE

CNC tube bending machines have enabled designers to think outside the box. Where your design involves connecting two or more components over a relatively large distance, the introduction of tubular features can make this possible both cheaply and efficiently. The smooth and subtle shapes that are achieved with tube bending can create a pleasing and practical solution to your designs.

CNC TUBE BENDING METHODS

CNC tube bending machines have advanced greatly over a short period. The off-line CAD/CAM software allows designers and production engineers to simulate the tube bending process to avoid interference with the machine thus restricting the feasibility of producing the product. The process of the tube being bent to a set radius is known as draw bending and has its limitations, whereas the process of roll bending can offer any radius, even changing direction and radius halfway through a bend. At Technicraft (Anglia) Ltd we have the capability of adding multiple draw bending tools to the same machine at the same time or using a combination of draw bending and roll bending by stacking the tooling above each other. Tubes with thin wall thicknesses need a mandrel inside to stop the tube from collapsing during the bending where as thicker walled tube may bend perfectly without a mandrel.
