HEALTH AND SAFETY – LEGISLATION AND COMPLIANCE
Sheet metal fabrication and metal working involves tasks that are seen as being hazardous. The safety and well-being of all personnel, including visitors, on site is paramount. To ensure health and workplace safety, we have always taken a proactive approach to controlling hazards. We work towards reducing risk in line with stated legislation and UK law.
PROTECTING STAFF AND VISITORS
We protect staff and visitors by the following measures:
- Training
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Managed task-specific working times for various types of machinery
- Engineering solutions such as local exhaust ventilation for dust and fume extraction
- We control work environments and safe areas with physical, mechanical and electrical devices. We ensure the health and workplace safety of staff and visitors with the use of light guards, perimeter fences and curtains. We have clearly marked walkways and notices highlighting the dangers within the factory.
ENFORCEMENT
Health and workplace safety is such a crucial part of today’s engineering industry. We have fully embraced this with our Health and Safety Manager being trained to a high standard and enforcing all the relevant laws and regulations with the added benefit of a third-party consultancy involvement and all their resources. All these measures ensure a safe working environment and an excellent safety record over many years.
